Skool's Plans at a Glance
Skool keeps pricing simple, with two plans that both include unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls. The main difference is how much Skool takes from your members' payments.
| Hobby | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $9/month | $99/month |
| Yearly billing | 2 months free | 2 months free |
| Transaction fee | 10% | 2.9% |
| Unlimited members, courses, videos, live calls | Yes | Yes |
| Custom URL | No | Yes |
| Group affiliate program | No | Yes |
| Free trial | 14 days | 14 days |
Yearly billing gives you two months free, which works out to about $7.50 a month on Hobby and about $82.50 a month on Pro. A small fixed card fee also applies per transaction.
The Hobby Plan ($9 a Month)
Hobby is built for free communities and small paid groups. You get the full community, classroom, calendar and live call features, but Skool takes 10% of every payment your members make. If your group is free, the fee doesn't matter.
The Pro Plan ($99 a Month)
Pro cuts the transaction fee to 2.9% and adds a custom URL and an affiliate program for your group, so members can earn commissions for referring new members. It's built for creators whose communities earn real revenue.
Where the Plans Break Even
Because the difference is mostly in fees, the right plan depends on your monthly revenue. Here's the total monthly cost of each plan at different revenue levels, using the plan price plus the percentage fee (fixed card fees excluded).
| Monthly Revenue | Hobby ($9 + 10%) | Pro ($99 + 2.9%) |
|---|---|---|
| $0 (free group) | $9 | $99 |
| $500 | $59 | $113.50 |
| $1,000 | $109 | $128 |
| $2,000 | $209 | $157 |
| $5,000 | $509 | $244 |
The break-even point is roughly $1,270 a month in revenue. Below that, Hobby is cheaper; above it, Pro saves money.
Is There a Free Plan?
No. Skool doesn't have a permanent free plan for group owners, but both plans include a 14-day free trial. Members can join free groups at no cost.
