Purium in One Minute

Purium Health Products is a long-running US multi-level marketing company that sells organic "superfood" powders, protein shakes, greens and supplements. Its best-known product is the 10-Day Transformation, a short program built around shakes and green drinks that many distributors promote as a reset or cleanse. CEO David "Dave" Sandoval co-founded the company in 2004 with Amy Venner, growing it from a small green foods operation that started in the 1990s.

Purium is a real company with real products, and we found no FTC action against it. But like most MLMs, its business opportunity rewards monthly autoship orders and recruiting, and we could not find a current public income disclosure showing what typical distributors earn. This review explains what joining costs, how the pay plan works, and what to check before you sign up.

What Does Purium Sell?

Purium's catalog runs to more than 100 products across weight loss, greens, protein, athletic performance, anti-aging and family nutrition. The 10-Day Transformation is the anchor of most sales pitches, often sold as a pack with shakes, a green juice powder and other supplements, and it has typically cost close to $300. Many people then move to a monthly order.

Purium distributors commonly share referral codes or gift cards that give new customers money off a first order. It is an effective way to bring in customers, but it also means much of the marketing you will see online is from people who earn when you buy.

This review looks at Purium as a business opportunity. We do not assess its products' health or weight loss claims. If you are considering any cleanse or diet program for health reasons, speak to a doctor first.

What Does It Cost to Join Purium?

To become a distributor, you buy an enrollment pack. Reported pack prices have been:

Purium Enrollment Packs (Reported)
Pack LevelReported Price
Get StartedAbout $249 to $280
GoldAbout $369 to $429
PlatinumAbout $549
LaunchAbout $1,049

The pack you choose matters more than it looks, because Purium's recruitment bonuses have been tied to the pack a new distributor buys. A bigger pack pays the person who recruited you more, which gives your upline a reason to steer you toward it.

After joining, distributors set up a monthly "Back-Up Order," an autoship that ships automatically unless you place a qualifying order of your own first. An active monthly order of about 50 PV or more keeps you eligible for commissions. If you follow the program monthly, as many distributors do, that can add up to hundreds of dollars a month.

How the Purium Compensation Plan Works

Purium's plan has 18 ranks, from Member to Royal Crown II, and pays in several ways:

  1. Retail commissions on customer orders, reported at about 15%, rising to about 30% for distributors with a qualifying autoship.
  2. Recruitment bonuses of about $50 to $350 per new enrollment, depending on the pack bought.
  3. A first-order bonus on new customers and distributors.
  4. Residual commissions on team volume, several levels deep.
  5. Matching, infinity and rank achievement bonuses for leaders.
  6. A monthly lifestyle bonus of about $300 to $10,000 for Diamond ranks and above, plus Diamond and Crown bonus pools.

Rank advancement depends on monthly autoship volume, group volume and the number of recruited distributors who reach set ranks. The larger bonuses sit at the top of an 18-rank ladder, which few distributors reach.

Two features deserve attention. First, autoship is the qualifier for commissions, so most active distributors are also monthly customers. Second, recruitment bonuses scale with the pack a recruit buys, which rewards signing people up over selling to customers who never join.

What Do Purium Distributors Earn?

We could not find a current Purium income disclosure statement on its public website when we checked in October 2026. Without one, you cannot see what the median distributor earns, which is the most important number for any MLM.

The wider picture is not encouraging. The FTC's 2024 staff report on MLM income disclosures found that most distributors across the industry earn little or nothing, and that published figures usually leave out the cost of staying active. With a monthly autoship to qualify, a Purium distributor needs to out-earn their own order just to break even.

Before you join, ask your sponsor for the current income disclosure in writing. If no one can provide it, treat any income stories you hear as marketing.

Refunds and Returns

Purium has promoted a 60-day money-back guarantee on its products. Check the current terms, especially for enrollment packs and opened products, before you buy, and keep your order confirmations.

Has Purium Faced Regulators?

We found no FTC lawsuit or warning letter involving Purium. The only official record we found is a 2010 California Proposition 65 notice, filed by an environmental group, naming Purium and several other supplement companies over lead in dietary supplements. A Prop 65 notice is a warning that a lawsuit may follow, not a finding of wrongdoing. You can view the notice on the California Attorney General's site.

Is Purium a Scam?

No. Purium is a long-established company that sells real products and has avoided the regulator trouble seen at many MLMs. But the opportunity has the usual MLM drawbacks: commissions depend on a monthly autoship, recruitment bonuses are tied to enrollment packs, and there is no current public income disclosure. For most people, selling Purium is likely to cost more than it earns.

Pros and Cons

What Stands Out

  • Long-running company with real products
  • No FTC action found
  • Advertised 60-day money-back guarantee
  • Referral gift cards make it easy to attract first-time buyers

What to Weigh Up

  • Monthly autoship needed to earn commissions
  • Enrollment packs from about $249 to $1,049
  • Recruitment bonuses scale with pack size
  • No current public income disclosure found
  • 18-rank ladder with the big bonuses at the top
  • Much online promotion comes from distributors who earn from your purchase

Questions to Ask Before You Join Purium

  • What does the current income disclosure say the median distributor earns?
  • What will my monthly autoship cost, and can I earn without it?
  • Does my sponsor earn more if I buy a bigger enrollment pack?
  • What are the refund terms for enrollment packs?

Who Purium Might Suit

Purium may suit someone who already buys its products each month and wants the distributor discount, without any plan to recruit. It is a poor fit for anyone joining mainly for income, because the monthly order you need to qualify is a cost most distributors never earn back.

Our #1 Recommendation for Making Money Online in 2026

If Purium isn't the right fit for you, here's what we suggest instead.

After comparing hundreds of programs over the years, we know what works and what doesn't. In fact, most of the business opportunities are either instant cash grab schemes or scams or they require experience. However, this beginner-friendly system stood out and is our #1 recommendation for 2026.

Yes. Purium sells through independent distributors who earn from their own sales and from the sales of people they recruit.

Reported enrollment packs range from about $249 to $1,049, and distributors need a monthly autoship order of about 50 PV to stay eligible for commissions.

Who Owns Purium?

Purium was co-founded in 2004 by David Sandoval, its CEO, and Amy Venner.

Has the FTC Taken Action Against Purium?

We found no FTC lawsuit or warning letter involving Purium. The only official record we found was a 2010 California Prop 65 notice over lead in supplements.

Can You Make Money Selling Purium?

Some top distributors do, but we could not find a current income disclosure, and most MLM distributors earn little or nothing after the cost of their monthly orders.

Our Verdict on Purium

Purium is a legitimate company with a long track record and a clean regulator history. As an income opportunity, though, it works like most MLMs: you pay each month to stay qualified, recruiting pays better than retail, and there is no current public disclosure to show what typical distributors earn. Buy the products if you like them, but don't join expecting income.
