Louis Navellier in One Minute

Louis Navellier is a growth stock investor known for quantitative stock ratings, with decades of newsletter history. He writes Growth Investor and premium services such as Accelerated Profits and Breakthrough Stocks through InvestorPlace, plus the free Market 360 email. Separately, his advisory firm, Navellier & Associates, lost an SEC fraud case, and in September 2026 the SEC barred him from the advisory industry.

His Quantitative Approach

Navellier's system grades stocks on quantitative factors, such as buying pressure, and fundamental factors, such as earnings growth and revisions. Stocks are rated from A to F, and newsletters focus on top-rated growth companies. Quant systems are consistent, but past patterns don't guarantee future returns.

The SEC Case

In 2017 the SEC charged Navellier & Associates and Louis Navellier with misleading advisory clients about the track record of a strategy it sold, called Vireo AlphaSector. Marketing claimed the strategy had a live record since 2001 when it was created in 2008. A federal court found against them in 2020, the decision was affirmed on appeal in 2024, and the Supreme Court declined review in 2025. The court ordered about $22.7 million in disgorgement plus interest and civil penalties.

The 2026 Industry Bar

On September 21, 2026 the SEC barred Navellier from associating with investment advisers, brokers and similar firms, and revoked his firm's adviser registration effective 60 days later, according to InvestmentNews. The case concerned his money-management firm, not his newsletters, and we didn't see reporting on how it affects InvestorPlace services.

Prices

Growth Investor prices vary by promotion. The top bundle, Platinum Growth Club, which includes all his services, has been listed near $9,995. Expect video-event upsells to premium tiers.

Free Email First

Market 360, his free email, shows how he rates stocks and talks about markets. Reading it for a month costs nothing and tells you whether his style suits you.

What This Means for Subscribers

Newsletters are published opinion and generally aren't regulated like advice. The SEC case is relevant because it involved misleading performance claims. Treat any Navellier performance figure with care and verify results yourself.

Before You Subscribe

  1. Read the SEC case summary first.
  2. Start with the free Market 360 email.
  3. Ask for the renewal price in writing.
  4. Track every pick against an index fund.
  5. Avoid premium bundles until you have a year of data.

A Steadier Way to Protect Savings

Newsletter picks are best kept to a small slice of your portfolio. Some savers diversify part of their retirement into tangible assets. Our top pick, Augusta Precious Metals, offers a free guide to the sales tactics retirement savers should watch for; our budget pick Noble Gold offers a free economic-crisis guide. Precious metals carry their own risks and costs.

Is Louis Navellier Legit?

His newsletters are real and long-running, but his advisory firm lost an SEC fraud case over misleading performance claims, and the SEC barred him from the industry in 2026. Read the SEC investor alert on newsletters.
